Sustainability & Performance Management

We all have an ambition to improve the important aspects of our business. Progress does not happen by chance. In order to work proactively and steer towards improvement you must have a strategy and a plan which you follow-up and act upon. Therefore we have created the XPICIO Sustainability Performance Model™. This model, which anyone is free to use, helps us to help our clients become increasingly better in all aspects of Sustainability and CSR.

Performance Management is an approach that long has been used to ensure that goals are efficiently met. Performance Management is by default applied to areas such as Finance, Sales, Logistics and Customer Satisfaction. Traditionally it has however not been applied to Sustainability and CSR. We at Xpicio see no reason to manage Sustainability and CSR differently.

There is a reason why Sustainability and CSR have not been managed in the same manner as other important parts of a business. The main reason has been the lack of ability to measure and derive useful information from these measurements on an aggregated level. Often all necessary data related to Sustainability is not easily available in today’s ERP-systems. In other areas the use of Business Intelligence tools to follow-up on KPI:s and do advanced Forecasting is standard practice. And just as a CFO cannot be successful by using policy-making, audits and annual follow-ups alone (which would be unthinkable), neither can the person responsible for Sustainability. Hence The XPICIO Sustainability Performance Management Model™ is not good on its own. It must be accompanied with a System and a Business Intelligence tool for Sustainability.

XPICIO has chosen to combine our model with the TEAMS Sustainability Reporting solution from Emisoft. TEAMS is a Business System for Sustainability and CSR. It has not only the ability to access all the important data from ERP-systems such as SAP but it can also extract data from production systems and PLC:s. Based on all this data advanced reporting and analysis is just one click away. With this information at hand strategy and planning can become truly efficient with a real impact on daily operations. And just like a CFO, the manager of CSR can control and manage his or her results in real-time.
